Last Monday was celebrated ‘It’s about you’, an inspirational event organized by The Event Makers and Online Marketing fabriek, in Montfoort, the Netherlands.
“Jij bent zelf verantwoordelijk voor je eigen succes”
“You are responsible for your own success”
They wanted to transmit us that we are the only ones responsibles for our own success. However, at the end of the night, the event was undoubtedly a success. And it was thanks of Online Marketing fabriek and the three inspirational speakers! The inspiration and enthusiasm was palpable in the room!
Whithout any doubt, I wanted to talk about it.
Firstly, beceuse this is a great occasion to talk about the social media and the communication campaign in this kind of events. Secondly, because as you know, I love talking about motivation and this was an amazing inspirational night.
As I’ve already said, the event was organized by Online Marketing fabriek. In addition, they were there broadcasting live on twitter and facebook in The Event Markers social networks. Furthermore, all the tweets with the #TEM15 were projected in real time during all the event.
Let me just point this out before to move on to the main ponts of the event. I want to do it because Social Media as the main strategy of communication for an event is one of the most common strategies that is on the agenda. Communication is essential. Not only before the event to catch the attendance of people. It is also important to transmit the essence and allow the rest of the people who couldn’t attend what happened there. In addition, it allows people know more about the speakers, the event and the company that organized.
Joseph Oubelkas, Stedman Graham and Charles Ruffolo were the three speakers that inspired us with their most passionate quotes and advices to sum up that everything is, only and exclusively, about you.
‘Please don’t think tonight is about us, it’s about you!
Focus, take responsibility, set goals and reach them. If you really want something, yourself and remain challenges, doubts and burdens, then you succeed!
I’ve always thought that whatever we do in this life, we have to do it with passion. Of course that is not going to be easy. Of course we are going to fail. Of course we are going to be afraid and we will not know how to do. But the truth is that we can do it. We just have to show the world we can do it.
The outside world is not waiting for you. You must show the world who you are, you determine own happiness.
How do we show this to the world? I would like to answer this with some ideas that Stedman Graham transmitted to us.
In this life, we have one chance to get who we are and who our business is out there. For that, we must to be clear and concise. We have to create our own brand. A brand with value. we need an idea first and then, organize and arrange everything around that thought.
The only way we can last and do what we do is through love and passion.
So, we have to create an identity. Also on social media, our message to the world should have an IDENTITY.
How much time we have to do it? Everybody has 24 hours. The question is, what do we do with them? If you did the same thing every day, what will you have in the end? Nothing. But If you take the high road, focus on love and positivity, then you’ll always be a winner.
Most people forget to turn their brain on, they forget to T-H-I-N-K. They become a follower as opposed to a leader. If you become a follower, you wait for people to tell you what you have to do. These people define you. They tell you that you can’t make it because of the colour of your skin, your gender, your family. But the truth is that:
It’s not about the colour of your skin, your gender or your family, it’s about WHO YOU ARE.
If you can’t be the sun, be a STAR. Be the best at whatever you are.
Finally, I would like to talk about the 9 step process of Stedman Graham because of there is not better way to sum up all the advices that they transmited to us.
- Know who you are (know your identity): Become the strongest person you can possibly become based on your strengths, passions and talents
- Have a vision that allows you create something
- Have a plan: You need to be able to execute your vision. Write it down!
- Create a value system to enact your vision: trust, hard work and a positive energy
- Overcoming your fears:It’s can or can’t, love or hate, the glass half-full or half-empty. It all depends on how you look at it.
- Dealing with change
- Build your dream-team
- Work by decision: Be a learner. Learn something new every day.
- Commit to your vision: Transform from a follower to a leader. Step out of your comfort zone
The road to success is a race.
“And all you have to do to win the race is rise each time you fall.”
